Canmore Mountain Market

Posted July 21st, 2010 by Cheryl

I will have a booth at the Canmore Mountain Market on July 29th, 2010.  I’ll have all of my current shop offerings plus a few not yet in the store colourways up for grabs.  I hope you can stop by and squish the yarn.  If you are a Ravelry user, sign up for my newsletter and receive a 10% discount on your purchase made at the market.  Be sure to include your Ravelry User name when you sign up so I know who to look for.

The Etsy shop will be closed July 28th to 3oth to prepare and recover from the Canmore Mountain Market.

The next yarn update will be August 9th, 2010, at 9:00 AM MST.  It will include new colourways to get ready for a return to school Hogwarts style.

June at DyeCauldron

Posted June 9th, 2010 by Cheryl

Lots has been going on around the Dye Cauldron over the last few months.

The Etsy shop is up and running smoothly.  Thank you to everyone who has stopped by and made a purchase.  Currently the Dye Cauldron Shop is stocked with Perennial Summer colourways in Silk Sock, Classic Sock and Classic Sport, more Criminal Minds themed yarn in a variety of bases, and some odds and sods.  Note that Discontinued Yarns such as the entire Farm Freah Collection and Alpaca Sock are on sale 25%-50% off their original list price.  http://www.etsy.com/shop/DyeCauldron

Also note the shop will be closed June 25 and 26, 2010, for a local yarn sale here in Canmore.

The Ravelry group is busy too http://www.ravelry.com/.  The DyeCauldron Yarnies have completed their first KAL, the Knit and Reid A-Long, and it was a success.  Threebagsfulled, aka Hilary of Hilary Designs, created two scarf patterns for our use with the Criminal Minds Yarn Collection.  Several people participated and a yummy skein of Classic Sport found its way to a lucky knitter who completed her project before the deadline.

Currently, we have a contest at DyeCauldron Yarnies on Ravelry, share a favourite pet story before June 14, 2010,  and be entered to win a skein of DyeCauldron yarn.  I hope you can take time to share, because who doesn’t like free yarn.

Next up for the DyeCauldron Yarnies is a Summer Solstice KAL starting June 21, 2010.  Hilary has created a shrug pattern and kits with the pattern and yarn are available at the DyeCauldron Etsy Shop.  If shrugs aren’t your thing then pick up some Perennial Summer Yarn and come a knit along with us anyway.  As usual, any participant in the KAL who completes a project using DyeCauldron Yarn will be eligible for the draw for a skein of yarn.  Hope you can join us.

Wishing and Waiting

Posted April 13th, 2010 by Cheryl

Could the mail system be any slower at getting my base yarn and new dyes to play with to me!!!!  I know it has been snowing here intermittantly, but honestly, it shouldn’t seem as if some poor postal worker is having to walk from the other end of the country to hand deliver it.

On a lighter note, I survived spring break with my two boys, renovated their bedroom from flooring to ceiling and everything in between, and managed to get a little stitching done.  Off the needles is a Cornflower Blue Askew Cardigan which I adore and thought I would never get done.  Before it was blocked it looked a little unfit to wear in public….but now I can’t wait to show it off.

Things around the cauldron have been a little slow due to the inherent lack of yarn!!!!!   However, that hasn’t stopped the action on Ravelry or the ideas in my head.   Look for a new group on Ravelry,  DyeCauldron Yarnies, where you can keep up with what is brewing in the cauldron and going on with other knitters who are enjoying DyeCauldron yarns.

We have a wonderful resource in Hilary otherwise known as threebagsfulled, our group resident designer.  She has some great ideas for knit alongs, the first one to start soon featuring Criminal Minds themed yarn called a Knit and Reid along.  Look for it in the Criminal Minds group too.   I promise a post of yarn to the Etsy shop before it officially begins with more Criminal Minds skeins to squish and love.

And for those of you still interested the next Canmore Stitch’n'Bitch will take place here, April 28th, 2010, anytime after 7:30 pm.

Happy SpringTime In Canmore

Posted March 30th, 2010 by Cheryl

Hello everyone.  Believe it or not but it is snowing today! March 30th and we have snow, about an inch.  It’s a good time to sit and plan for the month of April…..I have lots of yarn on order along with some new dye colours, however, I’m going to be brewing up some requests this week.

Any one ready for a little more Garcia in Classic Sock
I hope to finish up the BAU Collection this month along with introducing a Memories of 2010 Collection.  It will be Olympic themed based on the colours we saw while in Vancouver attending events.  I hope you like them all.

Thank You

Thank you everyone who has come by the etsy shop and made a purchase.  Your support has been wonderful and has inspired me to keep up the dyeing.  Once you have a project worked up please be sure to send me a photo since I don’t have a chance to work up each and every colourway I create.   And remember, during the monthof March shipping is free.

A quick note to my Canmore/Banff friends, Stitch’n'Bitch is on this coming Wednesday, March 24th at my house.  E-mail me if you need the address.
